Is anthrax still a problem in the UK today?

Yes, anthrax is still a concern in certain situations, though it’s rare. Cases connected to modern environments are extremely uncommon, but the legacy risk in old materials remains. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Public Health England still recognise anthrax as a workplace hazard, particularly in pre-historic buildings and older industrial sites. It’s not a widespread issue for the general public, but for businesses handling refurbishment or demolition of historic properties, it’s something that can’t be ignored.
