Sysco Environmental Ltd conducted a detailed anthrax risk survey on historic plaster at the Grade 2 listed Old Bank Building in Manchester. The survey's goal was to detect animal hair in the plaster and evaluate related health risks from Bacillus anthracis. Thorough inspections across all accessible areas and extensive sample collections were performed under strict safety measures. Findings revealed animal hair plaster in multiple locations, but no Bacillus anthracis spores were found, ensuring safe redevelopment. This survey highlights our dedication to preserving historical sites and adhering to health and safety standards in refurbishment projects.
