Anthrax Analysis in Redditch

In January 2025, an Anthrax Analysis was conducted following the submission of a sample to our laboratory from a commercial property in Redditch. The sample that was taken from the ceiling area in the lounge, was tested to determine the presence of Bacillus anthracis, the bacteria responsible for anthrax.

The results were clear, no anthrax was detected in the submitted sample. This confirms that there is no immediate health risk associated with the tested material. The sample was received in good condition, and laboratory controls confirmed the accuracy of the results.

Anthrax is typically found in environments where animal products, such as wool or hides, are handled, but it can also be present in contaminated materials. Although the test was negative, maintaining good hygiene and proper material handling practices remains essential.

With these findings, the property owners can be reassured that there is no anthrax risk in the tested area, ensuring a safe and secure environment for occupants.

Anthrax Testing in Worcestershire property

Sysco's Laboratory compiled a report following Anthrax Testing at a property in Redditch. The Testing was aimed to ensure a safe environment by analysing potential anthrax contamination in the property’s materials. A sample was collected from a lath and plaster ceiling in the dining area and underwent testing in a specialised laboratory. Fortunately, the results confirmed that Bacillus anthracis the bacterium responsible for anthrax was not present in the sample.

Anthrax, though rare in modern settings can still pose risks when individuals come into contact with contaminated animal products. Testing helps rule out the potential exposure from materials, especially in environments with historical building materials. The absence of anthrax in this case offers peace of mind for building users and allows safe occupancy without further precautions. This project underscores the importance of routine testing and proactive measures particularly in buildings where older materials might present unknown hazards. The findings enable residents and maintenance teams to operate confidently knowing their environment is free from anthrax contamination.
