Asbestos Survey at Sports Hall in Long Eaton

We recently carried out an asbestos survey at a sports hall in Long Eaton. Our goal was to identify any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) present before the planned refurbishment and demolition work. This survey was done according to the guidelines set by HSG264 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

During our inspection, we thoroughly checked all accessible areas of the sports hall, including ceilings, walls, and roofing materials. We found asbestos in the roof, specifically in the cement and bituminous materials used. Our sampling confirmed the presence of chrysotile asbestos in these areas.

To ensure safety and compliance, we recommend removing the identified asbestos-containing materials before any demolition work begins. This will help prevent any potential asbestos fibre release during the construction process. All removal work should be carried out by licensed professionals following strict safety protocols.
