During an asbestos survey, a trained and accredited surveyor visits your property to locate and assess materials that may contain asbestos. The process starts with a visual inspection of the building, focusing on high-risk areas such as insulation, pipe lagging, textured coatings, and older ceiling or floor tiles.
If potential asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are found, the surveyor will take small, controlled samples for laboratory analysis. The samples are tested under a microscope to confirm the presence and type of asbestos fibres.
Once the survey is complete, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining the findings — including the location, condition, and risk level of any asbestos identified, along with recommendations for management or removal.
