If asbestos is discovered during a survey, don’t panic — it doesn’t always need to be removed immediately. The first step is to assess the condition and risk of the material. If it’s undamaged and unlikely to be disturbed, it may be safer to manage it in place through regular monitoring and labelling.
However, if the material is deteriorating or will be affected by upcoming work, it must be removed or encapsulated by a licensed asbestos removal contractor. Your survey report will include clear recommendations on what actions are required.
