On average, a standard mould and damp survey takes between one and three hours. The length of the survey depends on the size of the property and the severity of the problem. A small flat with a single damp patch may be done quite quickly, while a large house with multiple problem areas takes longer. The surveyor will check visible signs, take moisture readings, sometimes collect air or surface samples, and then prepare a detailed report. You don’t usually need to do much to prepare, but it helps if rooms are accessible and furniture isn’t blocking problem areas.
