This mould and damp assessment carried out in Chorley looked at the general indoor air quality conditions within a residential property, with a particular focus on identifying signs of moisture build-up and fungal growth that could be affecting everyday living conditions.
Following a walkthrough of the property, a number of areas were inspected including bedrooms, living areas, bathroom spaces, and the loft. While most parts of the home appeared to be in reasonable condition, visible mould growth was identified in several locations such as behind large furniture, along window seals, and within rooflight edging in the loft space. These types of areas are often more prone to condensation due to reduced airflow or colder surface temperatures.
The assessment also highlighted that limited ventilation within enclosed spaces — like crawl areas and loft voids — may be contributing to ongoing moisture retention and creating conditions where mould can form over time. In some instances, this was linked to everyday layout factors, such as furniture placed directly against external walls.
Overall, this project gives a useful snapshot of damp and mould-related conditions within the home at the time of the survey and highlights practical improvements around ventilation, airflow, and routine maintenance that could help prevent further mould development moving forward.
