Our team carried out an air quality assessment focused on identifying mould and damp conditions throughout the property, aiming to gauge air quality and any moisture issues, particularly in basement areas prone to dampness. The inspection, performed by Sysco Environmental Ltd., included air sampling, moisture mapping, and a visual inspection for dampness and mould indicators.
The results showed good air quality in most areas of the property, with some issues in the basement. High moisture levels and mould presence were noted in the basement's boiler and compressor rooms, suggesting a need for targeted moisture control. Key indicators, such as elevated fungal spore counts including common mould types associated with damp environments were primarily confined to these areas.
Overall, the air quality was rated as good to moderate, with only the basement needing attention to prevent further damp-related issues. The recommended actions included improving ventilation, cleaning existing mould, and addressing moisture-prone structures. This proactive approach helps in maintaining a safe indoor environment, reducing potential health risks from prolonged exposure to mould spores and damp conditions.
