In November 2024, a Mould and Damp Assessment was carried out at a residential property in Lingfield to check for moisture-related issues and assess indoor air quality. The inspection covered living areas, bedrooms, the conservatory and a bathroom, focusing on signs of dampness, fungal growth and ventilation concerns.
The assessment found moderate air quality in most areas, but elevated fungal spore levels in the conservatory, main bedroom and kids’ bedroom. Visible mould contamination was noted in the conservatory, caused by a leaking ceiling and moisture absorption by wooden flooring. Additionally, a leak under the bathtub and condensation on certain windows contributed to damp conditions.
To improve indoor air quality, the report recommended repairing leaks, improving ventilation and addressing moisture buildup. Clearing blocked gutters, fixing damaged windows and monitoring humidity levels were also suggested to prevent further issues.
By taking these preventive steps, the property can reduce damp-related risks and maintain a healthier indoor environment for its occupants. Regular inspections and moisture control will help keep mould levels low and ensure long-term air quality improvements.
