Sysco Environmental Ltd performed an indoor air quality assessment at a Primary School near Birmingham, following concerns about unusual odours, stuffiness, and headaches among staff and students. Adhering to WHO and HSE standards, we evaluated airborne moulds, VOCs, carbon monoxide, particulates, temperature, and humidity. Results showed lower indoor mould levels compared to outdoors, negligible health risks from VOCs, and no detectable carbon monoxide. However, temperature and humidity frequently surpassed recommended levels, causing discomfort. We advised increasing fresh air circulation, utilizing humidifiers, and incorporating house plants. Our thorough assessment and targeted recommendations promote a healthier indoor environment for the school.
