Indoor Air Quality Assessment in St Albans

Our team attended an indoor air quality assessment at a car park in St Albans to evaluate air quality and ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff. The car park located below ground, operates 24/7 and was assessed for potential exposure to common air contaminants like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.

The findings were positive, with all measured levels of pollutants falling well below safety thresholds. Carbon monoxide levels although present due to vehicle activity were not significant and posed no health risks. Similarly, carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide levels were minimal and unlikely to impact air quality or safety.

The assessment highlighted the efficiency of the car park’s ventilation system in managing pollutant levels. While no immediate actions were required, regular maintenance of the ventilation system and periodic air quality checks were recommended to sustain these good results.

This project serves as a great example of how proactive monitoring ensures safe air quality in high-traffic spaces. By staying ahead of potential issues, the car park provides a safe, welcoming environment for its users reinforcing the importance of routine air quality assessments in shared public facilities.
