Sysco Environmental Ltd conducted an indoor air quality survey at the Leeds Library building, a three-storey period structure located in Leeds city centre. The library has a history of damp and mould growth affecting its book collections. To address these issues, the basement has been outfitted with air-conditioning and dehumidification systems, and the walls have been treated, repaired, and tanked to control water ingress.
The survey aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the current moisture control measures and the overall indoor air quality within the basement storage areas. Recommendations for further improvements were provided to ensure the preservation of the book collections and maintain a healthy environment for library staff and visitors.
