Workplace Air Quality Assessment in Manchester Lab

The assessment we provided focused on Workplace air quality monitoring related to hazardous substances, specifically formaldehyde, within a laboratory setting in Manchester. Conducted by Sysco Environmental Ltd, the report assesses employee exposure to substances as part of health and safety compliance. The key objectives were to measure air contaminants, evaluate exposure levels, and recommend control measures to ensure a safe working environment. The monitoring revealed that formaldehyde levels in the lab were below workplace exposure limits, but recommendations were made to improve ventilation and ensure proper training for employees on control measures. Additionally, the report suggests maintaining current safety processes and implementing periodic reviews to further minimise exposure risks.

VOC Air Monitoring in Manchester

Sysco Environmental Limited attended a project in Leigh, Manchester which involved an assessment of hazardous substances at a manufacturing site. The goal was to ensure employee safety and compliance with regulations related to exposure to chemicals. The assessment focused on various work areas, including the ink room, printing areas, and embroidery stations. Employees in these areas handle chemicals that can pose potential health risks. Air monitoring was carried out to measure the concentration of airborne substances, particularly volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The assessment highlighted that all monitored chemical levels were below legal exposure limits, meaning workers were operating in a safe environment. Recommendations were made for ongoing inspections of equipment, better training on handling hazardous substances, and the introduction of health surveillance programs for staff who work with chemicals regularly.

While no major hazards were detected, the report emphasised the importance of maintaining current safety practices and considering the substitution of certain materials with less harmful alternatives. The results provide peace of mind but also serve as a reminder to keep safety protocols updated.
