In January 2025, a Mould Test Kit Plus Analysis was carried out after samples from a property in Wragby, Lincolnshire were submitted to our laboratory for fungal testing. The goal was to check whether indoor air quality had been affected by mould spores, especially in areas like bedrooms and the lounge.
A total of four samples were analysed. The outdoor air sample showed a normal presence of common fungal species like Penicillium, Aspergillus and Mycelia sterilia, which helped set the baseline. Indoor samples showed very low to no spore activity, with only a small trace of Penicillium detected in one bedroom. Both the other bedroom and lounge samples came back completely clear.
The lab concluded that indoor air quality is not contaminated and the risk to health from mould exposure is considered low, even for sensitive individuals.
Basic mould cleaning and improved ventilation were suggested, along with investigating any hidden damp sources. There was no need for major remediation, just a bit of maintenance and continued awareness to keep the space fresh and healthy.
