A mould test kit, set up by the client and later analysed by our laboratory, provided insight into indoor air quality. The analysis covered eight samples, revealing the presence of Mycelia sterilia across various areas, with minimal signs of Aspergillus nidulans in one sample. Mycelia sterilia is typically harmless as it lacks a spore stage, making it of low concern in most indoor environments.
Sysco's lab concluded that the overall mould levels were within a normal range, indicating no significant indoor contamination. The detected fungal species are commonly found outdoors and appeared in minor quantities indoors, suggesting low exposure risk. No immediate health concerns were noted, and the mould levels detected are unlikely to impact individuals over the long term, even for those sensitive to allergens. This testing provides peace of mind, confirming a safe indoor environment without signs of problematic mould growth.
