A mould test kit was set up by our client and later analysed by Our laboratory team who provided insights into the indoor air quality. Two samples were tested: one from indoors and one from outdoors. The indoor sample showed a high level of Penicillium spores, a type of mould commonly associated with damp conditions indoors, while the outdoor sample contained moderate levels of Aspergillus species.
Sysco’s analysis highlighted that the Penicillium spores found indoors suggest an indoor origin, likely linked to moisture issues. Such elevated levels may pose an allergenic risk, especially with prolonged exposure. The findings suggest addressing any underlying moisture or water damage to prevent future mould growth. In the meantime, basic cleaning with proper ventilation and protective measures can reduce immediate spore presence. This proactive assessment allows the client to ensure a healthier indoor environment by tackling the root causes of mould growth.
