This project involved carrying out a lift tape analysis at a large industrial site in Doncaster. The aim was straightforward: take surface samples from a few key spots around the facility and see what, if anything, might be settling onto those surfaces. Lift tape testing is essentially a quick health-check for the indoor environment — a way to understand what kind of dust or particulate matter is present without needing intrusive investigation.
Four separate samples were collected from different areas and then examined under the microscope. The findings were pleasantly unexciting — which, in the world of environmental testing, is exactly what you want. All samples showed only moderate levels of general dust, with no unusual contaminants or biological growth identified. In other words, the site is behaving like a typical operational environment where day-to-day activities naturally generate dust that settles on nearby surfaces.
Nothing in the results suggested deeper issues such as mould activity, chemical residues, or other problematic particulates. The samples looked consistent with what you’d expect in a busy industrial setting that sees regular movement of people, materials and vehicles. For the client, this means the indoor environment isn’t showing any red flags and routine cleaning is keeping things under control.
While the results were straightforward, lift tape analysis still plays a useful role here. It helps confirm that what’s building up on surfaces matches general expectations, and it provides reassurance that there’s no hidden contamination developing behind the scenes. The project essentially offers a clean bill of health — the type of outcome that lets site managers stay confident in their housekeeping and environmental controls.
Overall, the assessment showed a stable, normal indoor environment with nothing beyond everyday dust. A quick, simple check — and a reassuringly uneventful one.
