What are the limitations of tape lift analysis in environmental testing?

Tape lift analysis cannot measure airborne spore concentrations or determine the viability of the mould. It is also limited by the sampling area; if mould is not visibly present or the tape is applied incorrectly, results may be inconclusive. Additionally, it is less effective on porous or uneven surfaces where adequate contact with the adhesive is difficult to achieve.
