Tape lift analysis is a surface sampling method used to identify and document the presence of mould or other particulate matter, such as fungal hyphae, spores, or dust, directly from building materials or furnishings. A piece of clear adhesive tape is applied to a suspect area, lifted, and then adhered to a microscope slide. This is examined under a microscope by a trained analyst to determine the type and extent of biological contamination. It is frequently used in both initial investigations and post-remediation verification.
