We conducted a Bacteria Swab Analysis, in Nottingham to inspect for pathogens in places such as doors and vehicle interiors with the intention of pinpoint potential bacterial risks in our daily surroundings. Samples were collected from surfaces and tested for bacteria like Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, among others.
It's really interesting how bacteria can survive on objects we come into contact, with every day! Although most of the samples had amounts of bacteria in them there was one particular spot with diesel that stood out due to its significantly higher level of Pseudomonas aeruginosa—a type of bacteria known for causing infections particularly in people who are more susceptible, to illness. Fortunately though Salmonella was nowhere to be found in any of the samples tested which was definitely a relief!
Identifying areas, with high bacteria concentration can assist both companies and individuals in enhancing their cleaning routines and lowering the chances of infections in places often used by the public. Recognising the types of bacteria in these spots can offer valuable insights, for maintaining better hygiene standards in our daily surroundings.
