Indoor air quality plans

New development or extensions to existing buildings constructed under BREEAM construction scheme will often require a comprehensive indoor air quality plans (IAQP) to manage indoor air contaminants during the construction phase. Our IAQP are prepared to the highest standard required by the industry and in full accordance with the BREEAM new Construction–Assessor Guide Note –GN06.

The indoor air quality plan will considered such aspects as:

  • null
    Removal of contaminant sources;
  • null
    Dilution and control of contaminants during construction;
  • null
    Detail procedure for pre-occupancy flush out;
  • null
    Specification for third party independent testing.

The plans are concise compiled with the use of clear non-technical jargon and cover all aspects of contaminants management and reduction to achieve adequate indoor air quality required by today’s high standards.

Compilation of adequate Indoor Air Quality Plan requires collection of such information as:

  • null
    Building location and its surroundings;
  • null
    Detail floor plans including rooms’ intended use;
  • null
    Duration of the construction phase;

The Meads Medical Centre in Sittingbourne

The Meads medical centre is a purpose build medical facility situated on the ground floor of a larger residential and commercial building. The medical centre consists of 12 consultancy rooms, 6 offices/meeting rooms and a number of storage cupboards. Successful air quality test was completed and breeam credits awarded.

Construction of new industrial units in Stockley Close in West Drayton. The units were a mixed use development for light industrial uses. Air quality plan was submitted prior to Formaldehyde and VOC testing which was successfully completed and satisfied the Breeam assessment criteria.
