This project took place at a Kent-based site and focused on how everyday substances are used, stored, and managed in a working environment. The aim was simple — spot any risks that could affect the health of the team and figure out if existing safety measures were doing the job.
We looked at a range of areas, from cleaning products to workshop materials, and chatted with staff to understand their routines. It was clear that people were doing their best to work safely, but like many workplaces, there were a few blind spots. Things like labelling, ventilation, and PPE usage could be tightened up to reduce the chances of exposure over time.
Rather than major overhauls, the recommendations were all about practical tweaks: more visible signage, updated risk assessments, and clearer guidance for staff. The idea is to stay ahead of any potential issues before they grow into real problems. This assessment gives the site a strong base to keep improving — a great example of how even small changes can make a big impact when it comes to workplace safety.
