What is the workplace exposure limit (WEL) for lead?

What is the workplace exposure limit (WEL) for lead?

The workplace exposure limit (WEL) for lead is 0.15 mg/m³ (milligrams per cubic metre) as an 8-hour time-weighted average. This is for inhalable lead dust or fume. It’s set by the HSE to protect workers from long-term health effects. If your air sampling results come close to or exceed this level, you’ll need to act fast — improve ventilation, enforce PPE, or even stop the work until exposure is controlled.
