How often should plastic fume monitoring be conducted?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but a good rule of thumb is to conduct plastic fume monitoring annually - or whenever there’s a change in process, materials, or ventilation. If your workplace uses different plastics or heating methods throughout the year, more frequent assessments may be needed. HSE recommends a “suitable and sufficient” risk-based approach, meaning if the risk is high, monitoring should be more regular.
