







The basic setup includes:
A personal air sampling pump worn on the belt
A filter cassette placed close to the mouth and nose
Tubing to connect the two
Calibration equipment to make sure the pump is pulling the right airflow
For some processes, additional tools might be used, such as real-time particle counters or gas detectors (for ozone or nitrogen oxides), but the standard method is the pump and filter. Everything collected on the filter is analysed in a laboratory to determine the exact metals present.
