Under UK law, LEV systems must have a Thorough Examination and Test (TExT) every 14 months. This is a formal inspection to prove the system is working safely.
But day-to-day checks are just as important — operators should look for blockages, damaged ducting, poor suction, or full collection bags. Monthly internal checks also help catch problems early.
A well-maintained LEV system should run smoothly all year. The annual test simply confirms what you already know from regular checks.
