The primary instrument for HAV testing is a specialised hand-arm vibration meter. During regular use, these employ accelerometers that are fixed to the tool handle. Vibration levels are recorded by the meter, and exposure durations and daily A(8) values are computed using the processed data. In addition, some organizations track how long tools are used by using trigger-time loggers or apps. When taken together, these metrics help businesses maintain compliance by providing a realistic view of the worker's exposure.
