Manufacturer vibration data can be helpful as a starting point — but it’s rarely enough on its own for a reliable WBV assessment.
These values are usually obtained under controlled test conditions, which may not reflect how the equipment is actually used on site. Factors like terrain, driving style, maintenance condition, tyre pressure, and seat performance can all influence real-world vibration exposure.
Because of this, estimated data should typically be treated as indicative rather than definitive.
Where there’s potential for exposure to approach regulatory thresholds, physical measurement during normal operations is usually the more accurate way to assess risk.
