WBV risk assessments shouldn’t really be treated as one-off exercises. A review is typically needed whenever there’s a change that could affect vibration exposure levels.
This might include introducing new machinery or vehicles, changes in terrain or flooring, increased working hours on equipment, or even replacing operator seats or suspension systems. Something as simple as tyre wear or poor maintenance can also influence vibration transmission.
You’d also want to revisit the assessment if workers begin reporting back discomfort or fatigue linked to equipment use.
As a general rule, if working conditions or equipment usage changes in any meaningful way — it’s worth checking whether your original WBV findings still apply.
