A recent whole-body vibration (WBV) assessment was conducted at a workplace in Hartlebury to ensure employee safety and compliance with health regulations. This evaluation focused on assessing workers' exposure to vibration while operating machines like forklifts and tufting machines.
The assessment aimed to identify potential risks and make recommendations to reduce exposure to vibration-related hazards. The results showed that none of the machines exceeded the established limits for WBV, meaning that the current conditions posed minimal risk to the workers. However, the report did suggest some practical measures, such as improving maintenance routines for equipment and providing additional training on adjustable seating to further minimise the exposure.
While the overall exposure was within safe limits, the assessment emphasised that continuous monitoring is essential. Regular reviews and improvements can help maintain a safe working environment, particularly for jobs that require long periods of machine operation. With these steps, employees can be assured of reduced risk of vibration-related issues
