Are there any health and safety limits for workplace noise?

Noise Exposure
80 dB(A) (LEAV) - Employers must assess risks & provide training on noise hazards. Hearing protection should be available.
85 dB(A) (UEAV) - Employers must provide hearing protection, reduce noise exposure, and establish a hearing conservation program.
87 dB(A) (ELV) - Maximum legal exposure limit, taking hearing protection into account. Cannot be exceeded.

Peak Noise Exposure (Impulse Noise, e.g., Explosions, Gunshots):
135 dB(C) (LEAV) – Action required
137 dB(C) (UEAV) – Strict controls and hearing protection required
140 dB(C) (ELV) – Maximum legal limit
