This project took place in Grantham, where a noise assessment was conducted across two industrial sites. The aim was to evaluate noise levels that workers are exposed to daily and ensure compliance with UK regulations regarding workplace noise. Various areas, like the Precision Machine Room, CNC Area, and Moulding Shop, were surveyed to identify potential risks and excessive noise sources.
The results highlighted that certain sections, like the Moulding Shop, had noise levels requiring mandatory hearing protection, while other areas only needed it on a voluntary basis. Recommendations included installing noise control measures, such as acoustic barriers, and ensuring that workers use appropriate hearing protection.
This assessment is part of a broader effort to reduce workplace noise exposure, protect employees’ hearing, and comply with health and safety regulations. Regular reviews and further monitoring were suggested to maintain a safe working environment.
