By Law, Employers Must Provide AND Enforce Use of Ear Defenders When:

Daily or weekly noise exposure (LEP,d or LEP,w) is at or above 85 dB(A)
Peak sound pressure (LCPeak) reaches or exceeds 137 dB(C)

At these levels, ear defenders (or equivalent hearing protection) are mandatory.
