A recent noise assessment was carried out at a facility in Hartlebury to evaluate the noise levels employees are exposed to during their shifts. The assessment focused on identifying areas where noise might pose a risk and providing practical advice to minimise exposure.
The noise levels were measured across several areas, including the production floor, where tufting machines and other equipment operate. It was found that some workers, especially those operating tufting machines and working in the packing area, experience noise levels that approach or exceed recommended limits. As a result, it was suggested that these workers use hearing protection in line with regulations.
The report emphasised that regular maintenance of machinery, such as tufting machines, could help reduce noise levels over time. Additionally, it advised the company to continue training employees on how to properly use hearing protection, as overprotection can sometimes lead to misuse.
Overall, the assessment highlighted that while noise levels were generally controlled, there are opportunities to further reduce exposure by implementing better maintenance routines and continuing noise monitoring efforts.
