Dental & amalgam exposure
Quantify mercury vapour exposure in dental and amalgam-handling environments.
Dental workers may be exposed to hazardous mercury vapour during the working day. Although the WHO has encouraged phasing down dental amalgam, it remains in use for restorative dentistry — and exposures can occur during handling and during sterilisation of instruments.
This passive badge is easy to use and gives accurate measurement of exposure over a working day or week. It can be used for personal monitoring (clipped to clothing near the breathing zone) or as an area monitor in surgeries and decontamination rooms.
Who is this for?
Dental practice managers
Demonstrate that operatives and surgery teams are not exposed above guidance levels.
Decontamination rooms
Area monitoring for instrument sterilisation environments where mercury can vaporise.
Industrial amalgam handlers
Suitable for non-dental amalgam-handling environments and reclamation processes.
Occupational health teams
Wearable evidence of personal exposure for at-risk operatives.
