Our Mould Test Kit Plus has been developed to provide a reliable, laboratory-verified assessment of airborne mould spores in your indoor environment. Whether you’re concerned about a bedroom, office, classroom or entire property, this kit offers a scientifically backed comparison between indoor air quality and the natural outdoor environment.
The process is straightforward — no specialist training required. Just follow the clear instructions, return your samples in the prepaid envelope, and let our accredited laboratory handle the rest.
Step 1: Prepare and Position the Outdoor Reference
Start by placing one test plate outdoors in a sheltered area. This sample helps establish a natural background level of mould spores for accurate comparison.
Step 2: Sample Your Indoor Spaces
Position the remaining plates in the rooms you wish to test — typically areas affected by damp, visible mould, or health concerns.
Step 3: Collect the Samples
Open the plates and expose them to the air for 30 minutes. Ensure all samples are taken at the same time for consistency.
Step 4: Seal and Return for Analysis
Carefully close and seal each plate using the materials provided. Place everything in the prepaid return envelope and post it back to our laboratory.
Step 5: Receive a Full Laboratory Report
Within 20 working days, you’ll receive a detailed laboratory report including:
Identification of mould species present

Placing a dish outside provides a control sample, allowing you to compare indoor mould levels to natural, outdoor mould levels. This helps determine if indoor mould concentrations are abnormally high.
Absolutely! First, prepare the area by following pre-test instructions. Next, open the petri dish and expose it to the air for the time recommended. Seal the dish, label it, and incubate as instructed. After the incubation period, compare the results with the reference guide.
Close all windows and doors at least 12 hours before conducting the test. This helps capture an accurate representation of the indoor air quality.
Yes, pets can carry mould spores on their fur or introduce them from outdoors. While they might slightly affect the results, it's essential to consider all potential mould sources.
Use a permanent marker to label each dish with the room's name and the date of the test. This ensures accurate tracking and comparison of results.
