    Styrene & ethylbenzene — verified

Quantify exposure across plastics, composites and adhesives operations.

Styrene is a high-production hydrocarbon used to manufacture polystyrene resins for plastic packaging, disposable cups, insulation, adhesives and composite materials such as fibreglass. It's also used to produce synthetic rubber and latex. Because styrene is synthesised largely from ethylbenzene, ethylbenzene is often present in styrene-derived products.

Our urine-based biomonitoring kit measures the absorbed dose of styrene and ethylbenzene across all routes of exposure — the most direct evidence that controls are protecting your workforce.

    Who is this for?

    • Health & safety managers

Independent biomonitoring evidence to demonstrate that exposure controls are working under COSHH.

    • Occupational health teams

Cumulative absorbed-dose data via all routes — inhalation, skin and ingestion — not just airborne.

    • Operators on at-risk processes

Reassurance that PPE, ventilation and work practices are protecting them adequately.

    • Auditors & client compliance

Defensible biomonitoring data to support insurer, contractor and HSE assurance reviews.

    Need a full COSHH assessment?

Pair biomonitoring with on-site exposure assessment.

For a complete picture, combine biomonitoring with personal air sampling, control verification and a defensible technical report from our occupational hygienists.
